Are You Hopeless, Hapless and Helpless?
April 21, 2018
Have you lost hope?
For many years I didn’t know how my marriage could turn around. It seemed hopeless.
For you, perhaps the medical report is bad, or there’s terrible news about a family member or friend. Maybe your job is on the line if certain targets are not met. Or your child’s difficulty is too hard to deal with. Has the man of your dreams not worked out and you feel alone; has your long-awaited child not appeared?
Whatever your pain or difficulties of life are, they can seem insurmountable. Don’t give up. There’s hope.
For me God is the Source of all hope.
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11 NLT
I also believe if you put your mind to it, you can find hope. It can be a choice. Why not use your energy to look and find small positive good things in your world? I think you’ll be amazed at how hope can surface once again.
Make a list.
And then remind yourself of the good things every time your mind starts to visit the pity party again.
Here is my list for today:
I am so glad I persevered with my marriage. It’s better now than ever;
I am blessed to have two grown kids that love me;
I am thankful that my (88-year-old) mother still has her wacky sense of humour;
Wow, I get to work with amazing women and walk with them in their journey. What a privilege;
Thank you, Lord, that I can see, walk, breathe, swim, dance, drive, (of course shop) and do all those things that I take for granted;
Yep, I feel better already!
What might your list say? Look for what’s been accomplished and then imagine forward to see what good things might be in store for you tomorrow.
So now girl, get up, put a smile on the dial and get going again.
